4TN League
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 23, 2026
For The Neighbourhood Basketball League (“4TN League” or “the league”) is committed to providing a competitive, safe, and enjoyable basketball experience. By registering as a player, captain, coach, or team, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1.0 Code of Conduct
1.1 All players, coaches, officials, and spectators must act with respect and sportsmanship at all times.
1.2 Trash talk, foul language, harassment, or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated.
1.3 Fighting or any action that puts others at risk will result in removal from the league, with no refund.
1.4 Discrimination or harassment based on race, gender, religion, or any other factor is strictly prohibited.
2.0 Player Eligibility & Rosters
2.1 Players must be 19 years of age or older on the date of their first game. The league may request proof of age.
2.2 Every player, including fill-ins, must be registered with the league and must complete their individual Player Waiver before stepping on the court. Players without a completed waiver will not be permitted to play.
2.3 Team rosters are limited to 12 players.
2.4 Each team may register up to 3 fill-in players. Fill-ins may only be used when a team has fewer than 5 rostered players available at game time, and only as many as needed to bring the team to 5 players.
2.5 Fill-ins are eligible for regular season games only and are not eligible for playoffs.
2.6 Roster and fill-in additions are allowed until Week 3. After that, rosters are locked.
2.7 A rostered player must play in at least 3 regular season games to be eligible for playoffs.
2.8 Players must arrive before halftime to participate in a game.
3.0 Uniforms & Equipment
3.1 Jerseys and shorts are mandatory. Pants are not permitted.
3.2 Teams may use their own matching jerseys, including jerseys from another league or season, provided all jerseys have visible numbers. Shorts do not have to match.
3.3 Jersey numbers must be unique within each team.
3.4 Official 4TN jersey sets (top and bottom) can be ordered at registration until the published order deadline. Jersey sets are custom-made and are non-refundable once ordered.
3.5 Free agent registration includes one 4TN jersey set.
3.6 Teams are responsible for maintaining proper footwear and personal gear.
4.0 Game Rules & Structure
4.1 Standard format: 20-minute halves, running time, with the last 2 minutes played stop-time if within 10 points.
4.2 2 (1-minute) timeouts per half. Dead ball only. No carryovers.
4.3 Overtime: 5 minutes, stop-time, with 1 timeout per team.
4.4 Fouls: 5 per player. 8 team fouls per half = bonus.
4.5 Modified FIBA rules apply. No shot clock. (Shot clock rules may differ by division.)
4.6 A minimum of 5 players, including eligible fill-ins (see 2.4), is required to start a game. If a team does not have 5 players by game time, the game is a forfeit (20–0).
5.0 Facility Rules
5.1 No shooting around during other games.
5.2 Only rostered players, fill-ins playing that game, and one coach are allowed on the bench.
5.3 Spectators must remain in designated viewing areas.
5.4 Teams are responsible for respecting facility staff, equipment, and property.
5.5 Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside the facility.
6.0 Safety, Waiver & Release of Liability
6.1 Basketball is a physical, contact sport with inherent risks, including sprains, fractures, concussions, and other serious injuries. Participation is voluntary.
6.2 Participants confirm they are physically able to participate. All participants are encouraged to have personal health insurance and to be medically cleared to play.
6.3 Assumption of risk: Each participant freely accepts and assumes all risks of taking part in league games and events, whether those risks are known or unknown.
6.4 Release of liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, each participant waives and releases any and all claims against 4TN League, 4TN Foundation, and their organizers, staff, volunteers, referees, and facility partners for any injury, illness, loss, or damage arising from participation, including claims based on negligence. This release binds the participant and their heirs, executors, and legal representatives.
6.5 The league and its organizers are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
6.6 Every player, including fill-ins, must personally accept this waiver on their individual Player Waiver form before their first game. A captain cannot accept it on a player’s behalf.
6.7 By accepting, participants confirm they have read and understood this section, that it affects their legal rights, and that they accept it voluntarily.
7.0 Fees, Payments & Refunds
7.1 Current fees are listed on the registration page. A registration is confirmed only once payment is received in full, or once a payment plan has been approved by the league. Submitting a registration form does not by itself reserve a spot.
7.2 Payment can be made by card or by Interac e-Transfer to 4tnfoundation@gmail.com. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe; 4TN League does not store card numbers. e-Transfers must include the registration number and be sent within 3 days of registering, or the registration may be released.
7.3 Payment plans are available by approval only. To request one, email 4tnleague@gmail.com or DM @4tnleague on Instagram. Approved plans must be paid according to the schedule agreed with the league. Teams that miss a scheduled payment may be suspended from play until their balance is paid.
7.4 All fees must be paid in full before the season begins, unless the team is on an approved payment plan.
7.5 Fees are non-refundable once the season starts. Refund requests made before the season starts are reviewed at the league’s discretion, and card processing fees are non-refundable. Jersey sets are non-refundable once ordered.
7.6 No refunds for injuries, forfeits, suspensions, or personal conflicts.
7.7 If the league is cancelled or postponed due to facility issues, emergencies, or public restrictions, credits or deferrals may be offered at the discretion of the league.
7.8 If a playing night does not reach the minimum number of teams by the registration deadline, the league may move teams to another night where space allows (with the captain’s agreement), add free agent teams, adjust the schedule (including rotating bye weeks), or cancel that night. If a night is cancelled, affected teams and players receive a full refund of everything they paid, including card processing fees.
8.0 Media & Promotion
8.1 The 4TN League may capture photos, videos, and game statistics during games and events for promotional and league purposes.
8.2 By participating, you grant the 4TN League permission to use your name, likeness, voice, and game statistics in league content, without compensation.
8.3 To request removal of a specific photo or video, email 4tnleague@gmail.com.
9.0 Privacy
9.1 The league collects the information provided at registration (such as name, contact details, date of birth, and jersey details) to run the league: registration, eligibility, scheduling, payments, communications, and jersey orders. Dates of birth are used to confirm eligibility.
9.2 Captains confirm they have each teammate’s permission to share their name, email, and jersey number with the league. Each player provides the rest of their information directly on their own Player Waiver form.
9.3 The league does not sell personal information. It is shared only with service providers needed to run the league, such as payment processing, email delivery, and the jersey supplier.
9.4 To access or correct your information, or with any privacy questions, email 4tnleague@gmail.com.
10.0 Disciplinary Authority
10.1 The league reserves the right to suspend or remove players, teams, or spectators for violating rules or creating unsafe environments.
10.2 Decisions made by league organizers and referees are final.
11.0 Acceptance of Terms
11.1 By registering and participating, all players, captains, and teams confirm they have read and agreed to these terms.
11.2 Captains are responsible for sharing these terms with their team and fill-ins.
11.3 The 4TN League reserves the right to adjust policies, schedules, and rules. Captains will be notified of major updates.
